Robin sent us wonderful news of Forest (formerly Rufus). Robin and her family raise sheepdogs in New Orleans and together they all survived Katrina. It makes us ao happy to see Forest thriving thanks to the wonderful love and care Robin and her family have lavished on him!

duffy went to visit cozmo and both of them had a blast. cozmo is now almost 30 lbs. at 3 months! he held his own chasing duffy. he is as sweet as ever!

as arin takes winston home to live with her family- mom, dad and brother, adam-we are left with a very quiet house which is puppyless. duffy and i are depressed together. john has taken mike, tom and sarah camping for a few days- they will feel the loss when they return. we have had quite an adventure raising these puppies and are thrilled to have found such wonderful homes for each of them!

the pups are now three weeks old and are really starting to look like little dogs. they had their first bath today after spending two days learning to lap up milk from a bowl. more milk on the fur than in the mouth, but they are getting the hang of it. brings back the memories of pureed carrots in the kids' hair.

oliver, rufus and harry kept warm together under the heat lamp. they grew at a tremendous rate- gaining at least two ounces a day.

40 minutes later, puppy 4 arrived- a 16.5 oz. male who nursed immediately. 4 little guys. sarah. our 17 year old daughter, named him harry. she delivered all 4 pups and was awed by the entire event.
i slept on the floor, next to the whelping box for three nights. all was well. duffy was an amazing mother- attentive and caring, nursing them constantly.
